Background
NANC works for the first time together with IWNC (I Will Not Complain), a training company offering leadership and organization development program focusing on Leadership Effectiveness, Team Effectiveness, and Organizational Effectiveness, on a series of Management workshops for its Beijing-based alumni, with an intention to provide training opportunities for a group of alumni in order to improve their communication skills and personal performance at work, thereby to improve their personal effectiveness and self awareness and to increase their ability to work better in a multicultural team. The theme of the series of management workshop was decided based on previous survey, which was carried out earlier this year in March.
Theme & Program Schedule
There are in total 4 modules designed on a theme ‘Foundation for Managers Programs’. The first 2 modules have been carried out on ‘Personal Awareness’ on July 30 at the Dutch Embassy and on Aug 13 at Hutongschool Courtyard.
Contents
These two 3-hours modules have been successfully organized; each includes elements of experiential and interactive learning. In total 31 people participated in the very first module on July 30 at the Dutch Embassy and learned individual learning preferences and impacts they have on both personal and professional lives. On Aug 13, the discussions were continued with thinking and behavioral preferences; while individual core values and how to align them with career development were also discussed.
Outcomes
Questionnaire evaluations for both modules reveal positive feedbacks which have shown stronger willingness on continuous learning. The other two workshops will focus more on Effective Communication and Team Awareness, which will be carried out on a bit later stage.
To conclude, participants of each module are satisfied with the results and the overall organization; they had chance to expand their networks further. Both modules have been delivered up to their expectations
Facilitators
Both facilitators have rich hands-on teaching experiences, which have ensured effective learning results. Pre-workshop online self-assessment as well as workbooks had been carefully designed and prepared according to the topics. Many visual aids have been used; small group discussions and interesting interactive learning methods have been adapted; participants were encouraged to get involved in each activity.
