Below is a brief introduction about MBA programmes and Master in International Finance in Amsterdam Business School.
Amsterdam MBA (one-year fulltime)
Taught by faculty with extensive experience in both international business and academia, courses introduce students to the theory they need to understand the business world, the best methods of practice and the most recent developments in international business. The MBA curriculum provides broad coverage of the main functional areas in management. It also provides basic instruction in economics and quantitative analysis. The curriculum is highly integrative and will include courses in business policy and strategy. Beyond the acquisition of knowledge and technical skills the curriculum puts theory into practice by focusing on the personal development of participants through such competencies as decision making, teamwork, leadership skills, entrepreneurial potential, negotiation skills, communication and presentation skills. After successful completion of their studies, students are awarded the title ‘Master in Business Administration’.
Master in International Finance (MSc, one-year fulltime)
Taught by the ABS’ renowned Finance Group, the MIF programme introduces students to cutting-edge developments in international corporate finance, asset management, and banking. The curriculum aims to prepare students for a professional rather than an academic career. Nevertheless, high academic standards are maintained and students are introduced to the most recent research in the respective areas. At the same time, experts from the financial services industry are regularly involved in developing and evaluating the curriculum, thus guaranteeing that the course material offered has a high degree of practical relevance. Part-time and full-time groups interact throughout the programme. All courses are conducted in English. The Master in International Finance is an advanced MSc programme. After successful completion of their studies, students are awarded the degree Master of Science in International Finance.
